General Durable Power of Attorney

A Durable Power of Attorney is a legal document that designates a person (an “Agent”) who will act on your behalf regarding financial matters. He or she will make financial decisions in your best interest when you are no longer able to do so. Of significance, when a person does not have a Durable Power of Attorney, family members are left to pursue lengthy and costly proceedings to have their family member adjudicated as “incapacitated” and rely on the Courts to appoint a legal guardian.
